Graduate student Ustun Sunay was awarded a 10-week summer internship sponsored by the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program. The position is in the Shock Wave Facility at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division where dynamic impact tests are performed on a variety of materials including viscoelastic polymers.

Ustun will be analyzing microstructural changes incurred during stress using a method developed by his summer mentor, Dr. Susan Bartyczak.
