UAB Youth Safety Lab
The UAB Youth Safety Lab is dedicated to applying psychological science to understand and prevent injuries to children, adolescents, and young adults.
Injuries are the leading cause of child death in the United States and much of the world. Although sometimes labelled “accidental," almost all injuries can be prevented. The UAB Youth Safety Lab, founded in 2001, conducts cutting-edge, innovative research designed to improve children’s health and safety. Our results are published in premier scientific journals and appear regularly in local, national and international media outlets.
