Since the mid-1980s, the UAB Department of Theatre has supported troupes of student actors bringing quality performances to venues all over the state. Together these troupes have logged countless miles on the road and entertained thousands of people each year.

    Jereme Lewis knew from an early age that he wanted a life in the theatre. In the UAB Department of Theatre he rose quickly to the challenge of stage managing complex shows. Now he's doing it on Broadway. Read about his remarkable journey.

    Renita started her time in college playing basketball and studying nursing. Then she took a class in the UAB Department of Theatre that sent her off in a new direction -- one that has taken her to Julliard, Lincoln Center, and beyond. Read her amazing story.

  • Jalen Kirkman

    The UAB Department of Theatre recognized Jalen's talent right away, and encouraged him to try out for the "Voices of Tomorrow" competition. We were delighted when he made the semifinals and thrilled when he became one 10 finalists. Then he won the whole thing. Read all the details.
