ORCID IDs Required for all Individuals Supported by Research Training, Fellowship, Research Education, and Career Development Awards Starting October 1, 2019
NIH, AHRQ, and CDC announce that individuals supported by research training, fellowship, research education, and career development awards will be required to have ORCID IDs (Open Researcher and Contributor Identifiers) beginning in FY 2020. (NOT-OD-19-109)
Notice of System Change and Procedure for Requesting an Extension to Early Stage Investigator (ESI) Status
Beginning on August 22, 2019, investigators will be able to request an extension to their ESI eligibility period through eRA Commons via an ESI Extension request button in the Education section of their Personal Profile. The system will provide text fields for individuals to provide a justification for the proposed extension, and the ability to upload PDFs of supporting documentation. Once completed and submitted, the request will be reviewed by the ESI Extension Committee. If approved by the Committee, the new ESI end date will appear in the Education section of their Personal Profile. (NOT-OD-19-125)

The CCTS Pilot Program serves as a collaborative mechanism supporting innovative research tackling disparities and health challenges that disproportionally affect minority and special populations in our region, as well as fostering the future translational research workforce with a spirit of collaboration, team science, and discovery. Learn Enhance Advance Drive (LEAD)
The purpose of the LEAD program is to build a pipeline of future leaders within UAB, the CCTS Hub. Co-Sponsored by CCTS and Scientific Community of Outcomes Researchers (SCOR), LEAD is focused on developing the fundamental competencies within junior faculty and staff who are in leadership roles or will be in leadership roles soon.
