If you are a grant writer with a fall or winter deadline, mark your calendar for Wednesday, Sept. 7. Our next CCTS Forum will feature NIH study section reviewers from four CCTS partner institutions (Auburn, Tulane, UAB, and University of South Alabama) will compare notes on enforcing the NIH rigor and reproducibility requirements, providing tips for grant writers with upcoming deadlines.
If you don’t know what we are talking about, then you REALLY need to be there (and may wish to check out previous news briefs and Forums, and our online NIH Rigor and Reproducibility resources, including videos and samples of authentication appendices in our Grant Library).
NIH study section reviewers will represent a variety of scientific disciplines and include:
- Bruce Bunnell, PhD, director, Center for Gene Therapy, Tulane
- Christopher Easley, PhD, associate professor, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Auburn
- Emily Levitan, ScD, associate professor, Epidemiology, UAB
- Hua Lu, MD, PhD, chair, Biochemistry, Tulane
- Vishnu Suppiramaniam, PhD, DVM, assistant dean, Research and Graduate Programs, Auburn
- Jianhua Zhang, PhD, associate professor, Division of Molecular & Cellular Pathology, UAB
This one-hour investment of your time can only improve your score. This is in addition to the usual benefits of attending our Forum, which include the opportunity to engage in lively scientific discussions with our CCTS experts, network with other attendees (one of whom may be your next research collaborator), and enjoy free hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.
The CCTS Forums take place from 4:45-6:00pm on the first Wednesday of every month at the Pittman Center for Advanced Medical Studies (PCAMS) Building. For those who cannot attend in person, our Forums are accessible via GoToMeeting, tweeted live (@cctsnetwork #cctsforum), and available for later viewing via the CCTS YouTube channel.
