The UAB CCTS sponsored the first annual Community Health Innovation Awards last fall, and one of the winning projects, the Norwood Learning Gardens, will hold a graduation ceremony in August.
The Norwood Learning Gardens will have an awards ceremony for their Jr. Master Gardeners at Norwood Elementary School’s cafeteria, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at noon, 3136 Norwood Blvd., Birmingham, AL 35234
The Community Health Innovation Awards provide a unique chance for participants to design, develop, and implement innovative ideas for solving their most challenging community health needs. Teams work closely with mentors to develop their ideas for presentation to a panel of judges. A total of at least $50,000 has been made available for community projects ranging from $5,000-$25,000 each.
