We provide evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal diseases of the gums and bone surrounding the teeth and the replacement of teeth with dental implants. Your treatment can be provided in either our UAB dental group practice or in the postgraduate Periodontics clinic. If care is provided within the UAB Dentistry group practice you will be treated by Faculty periodontists in a modern, friendly environment. Our faculty are active participants within the UAB Dental Group and deliver specialty care in periodontics and implant dentistry. The UAB Dental Group is an interdisciplinary clinic providing care for all your dental needs.
In the Postdoctoral Periodontal clinic, you will be treated by a dentist who is studying for an additional three years after dental school to become a periodontist. We provide treatment for gum diseases, missing teeth with dental implants, recession of the gum tissues, gummy smiles, and other cosmetic problems. We use state-of-the-art technology like three-dimensional scanners and x-rays to plan our surgeries and work to ensure optimal results.
