I am presently serving as an Internship Supervisor for the Graduate Degree Program for Teaching ESL at UAB. I am retired from the Calhoun County School System, where I was an instructor, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), grades K-12. I am a former high school Spanish teacher, having taught in several Lawrence County Schools, before teaching at Saks High School, in Anniston, Alabama.

Education has always been a vital part of my life. My teachers and parents instilled in me an incessant love of learning. As a child, growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, many of my role models were teachers. I am thankful to them today, for the inspiration that they gave to me.

I received a BS in Spanish and Psychology from Moorhead State College in Moorhead, Minnesota. In 2005, I completed my Master's in Teaching ESL at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, through the NTNS Program. Highlights of my teaching career include being chosen Outstanding ESL Alumni in Curriculum and Instruction for 2007, and traveling to Mexico with two groups of students. Currently I live in Anniston, Alabama with my husband of 40+ years, Bishop James H. Wright.  We have two sons, Jason and Justin, who share our passion for God, and our love of life, music and education. My hobbies include traveling, playing Scrabble, and of course, speaking Spanish. It is my desire to inspire others to be life-long learners!
