The New Quizzes tool is an assessment engine built by Canvas and will eventually replace the Classic Quiz creator. Previously, Canvas was planning this replacement for early 2023, but has updated their deadline to 2024 to allow more time for training and content migration.

NOTE: the use of New Quizzes does not currently remove the ability to use Canvas Classic Quizzes. The use of Classic Quizzes will be available until 2024. Additional details about end of life for Canvas Classic Quizzes is available on the Canvas Community.
New Quizzes’ features include a series of enhancements and added item types, bringing workflow improvements to Canvas quizzing. However, New Quizzes does not reach full feature parity with the Classic Quiz engine.

Interoperability with Respondus LockDown Browser
Students will be able to access Respondus exams directly from New Quizzes. No more exiting Canvas to access Respondus will be needed! See how this works in this video created by Respondus.

- Add extra time to all quizzes for individuals in one step
