Facilities has committed to a culture of continuous improvement. As part of that culture, a Process Champions program was put in place several years ago to train employees on how to document and improve internal processes. This spring, 11 employees graduated from the program as Process Champions and continuous improvement advocates.
“It’s not enough for a single person to document our internal processes,” says Juliana Madrid, Business Process Manager. “This program was created to teach our employees how to document and – more importantly – how to find ways to improve the existing processes for better outcome.”
Because of COVID-19, the 2020-21program was conducted virtually, including the graduation ceremony held this spring. Participants attended nine sessions, including business process management, project management, and practical activities. The program focuses heavily on practicing the skills in real world situations. Participants are often documenting processes throughout the program.
