Workplace Safety – July 19th, 2023, 9-11am; Location: Facilities Conference Center
This course introduces the role of leaders and staff in developing a positive safety culture. It focuses on how to respond positively to safety issues, reporting safety concerns, and how to prevent accidents/hazards in the workplace. This course is provided by the Facilities Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Campus Safety department. Registration for this course may be completed in the Campus Learning System.
Industrial Safety – July 25th, 2023, 9-11am; Location: Facilities Conference Center
This course builds upon the topics covered in the Workplace Safety course and covers information pertinent to the Facilities Maintenance and Utilities employees related to workplace safety. Topics reviewed in this course include Intro to Safety, Powered/Aerial Lifts and Scissor Lifts, Fall Protection & PPE, Hazardous Energy & Confined Spaces and Ergonomics & Materials Handling.
HR Bootcamp – July 11th, 2023, 9-10:30am; Location: Facilities Conference Center
HR Bootcamp introduces human resource policies such as Equal Opportunity and Discriminatory Harassment Policy, and FLSA: Understanding Fair Labor Laws and Policies. Knowledge of these policies is vital when providing information to your team in your role as manager. This course is provided by Facilities Human Resources. Registration for this course may be completed in the Campus Learning System.
HR FMLA & Leave Management – August 17th, 2023, 9:30-10:30am via Zoom
FMLA and Leave Management introduces human resources policies related to the Family Medical Leave Act and Leave of Absence. Knowledge of these policies is vital when providing information to your team in your role as manager. This course is provided by Facilities Human Resources. Registration for this course may be completed in the Campus Learning System.
Facilities Coaching aims to assist managers in being able to effectively communicate with peers and direct reports, build trust and apply diplomacy and tact through coaching skills and provide the tools to hold effective, frequent coaching conversations. This course is comprised of two parts and both parts are required for course completion.
*Please note a 10-minute grace period beyond the start time will be allowed for entry into Zoom courses. After the grace period ends, the course will be closed to participants.

Facilities LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) Program
The Facilities LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) Program aims to provide current and aspiring leaders the opportunity to build upon foundational elements of leadership that are necessary for success within the Facilities Division such as Workplace Safety, Human Resources Policies and Coaching Your Employees. In addition, the program offers participants the opportunity to advance their knowledge in the areas of Emotional Intelligence, Time Management and Leadership Philosophy.
The program is designed to provide the basic elements of leadership along with the option for participants to explore areas of leadership that will contribute to their professional development and personal growth. Upon completion of the program, new and aspiring leaders should possess the fundamental tools necessary to continue developing themselves and their teams.
