Purpose of Profiles

Profiles is a data management tool that faculty can use to document their scholarly, research, teaching, and professional activities. The goal is to create faculty member profiles that track their scholarly and professional activities, assist in identifying potential collaboration partners, and provide robust tools that can be used to analyze and evaluate scholarly productivity at the departmental and school/college level.

Profiles offers numerous teaching, research, service, and publication reports that can be generated for grant applications, grant renewals, curriculum vitae, accreditation reports, and performance evaluations.

Purpose of Scholars

Scholars is the UAB system that integrates with Profiles to create online public profiles of faculty members, departments, and centers. Scholars combines data from the Profiles system with faculty biographies, research interests, contact information, and links to their curriculum vita to create robust publicly available faculty profiles.

Additions or modifications to Scholars must be made through Profiles.

Scholars @ UAB enhances the visibility of UAB and its faculty by highlighting the innovative and outstanding work being done here and facilitates multidisciplinary collaborations with other faculty and students.
