The Honors Parent Association (HPA) connects parents and families to the Honors College, fosters a caring and inclusive support network for our honors students, and promotes the overall interests of the college and the university. Parents are key partners in helping our students set their world on fire. That’s why all parents or guardians of honors students are automatically made members of the HPA once their students enroll in the UAB Honors College. (No membership fee required, though financial contributions are welcome!)
As a member of the HPA, you’ll be invited to meetings throughout the year to hear updates about the UAB Honors College and our students. We’ll keep in touch with you through our bi-monthly HPA News Blast, so you can learn all about the exciting opportunities we have in store for your students. Connect with other Honors parents, and join our HPA Facebook Group to stay up-to-date on the latest news in the Honors College.
Honors Parents Council
The Honors Parents Council (HPC) was established in spring 2018 and provides leadership and organizational structure for the Honors Parents Association membership. The HPC is a group of Honors Parents that go above and beyond in their service and commitment to the Honors College. The HPC meets twice a year (spring and fall) and supports two keys areas of the Honors College: Outreach and Fundraising.
We hope you’ll continue to support the Honors College, and the students whose lives are being changed, and the future students who are just waiting to be kindled, through participation in our Honors Parents Association or Honors Parents Council.
