    A Message from the Dean

    Dear Honors Graduates:

Congratulations on your graduation from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with academic distinction in the UAB Honors College! I hope that you have found your Honors experience to be stimulating and fulfilling, reached (and perhaps surpassed!) the goals that you set for yourself upon first coming to UAB, and made many wonderful friendships and memories that will stay with you long past the completion of your undergraduate degree.

One of our traditions that I look forward to each spring is our annual Honors College Medallion Ceremony to recognize our graduating seniors and present each with the Honors College medallion that you wear during UAB Commencement as a visible symbol of your impressive accomplishment. Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we were disappointed to be unable to gather in-person to celebrate your outstanding achievements as an Honors graduate.

To celebrate the tremendous milestone that you have reached, we hosted the Honors College Medallion Ceremony virtually this year on May 1. You can relive your favorite moments by viewing the ceremonial video on Facebook and YouTube.

As you navigate the Honors College Medallion Ceremony webpage, you will find the ceremony video for post-viewing as well as the commemorative program booklet.

We are extremely proud of you. Please know that your Honors College family is always here for you as you “Set Your World on Fire.”

    Best wishes,
