On the afternoon of November 15, UAB Human Resources received information regarding a ruling on the November 8 hearing on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

A federal judge from the East District of Texas vacated all components of the FLSA overtime ruling. Due to this ruling, UAB will not be implementing changes to move employee salaries, grades or status from exempt to non-exempt effective January 1, 2025.
