Securing UAB data — and knowing the right type of security different forms of data require — is key to helping secure the UAB community.

This month we’ve launched Data Safe, a new mobile game starring Blaze is helping teach you about the different types of data and the importance of securing it. Data Safe is part of our month-long look at security tips and tricks, coinciding with National Cyber Security Awareness Month.

With Data Safe, all you have to do is help sort the data into the right color-coded safes. You can’t leave data out in the open too long, or you’ll lose — and put Blaze and his information at risk. Green is Public data, yellow is Sensitive data, and red is Restricted/PHI data.

Here’s a game hint: Sorting and securing the red Restricted/PHI data is most important — just as it is in real life.
