UAB IT’s campus telecommunications team will be performing VoIP. Telephone maintenance beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15. The maintenance will ensure the telephone certificate file is refreshed.
Because VoIP telephone reboots are required to download the new certificate, there is a chance some phones may require a manual reset.
If your VoIP phone is not connecting and requires a reset, please refer to the steps below or the instructional videos for your phone version.
To do a manual reset of the 8861 version of the Cisco VoIP phone (the 8861 has 10 buttons)
- Press Application (the gear button) on your phone
- Select “Admin Settings”
- Select “Reset Settings”
- Select “All Settings”
- Select RESET soft key
To do a manual reset of the 7841 version of the Cisco VoIP phone (the 7841 version has four buttons):
- Press Application (the gear button) on your phone
- Select “Admin Settings”
- Select “Reset Settings”
- Select “All”
- Select RESET soft key
