Beginning in mid-February, all UAB campus employees will be required to take annual information security training.
The course will be assigned through the UAB Docebo campus learning system.
“Now, perhaps more than ever, companies and institutions around the world are under attack from cyber criminals. A single phishing email could lead to an intrusion or ransomware attack that could halt our operations and harm our work, our research or even our patient care,” said Rob Ferrill, chief information security officer for UAB.
UAB has a number of technology tools designed to help combat cyber attacks, but one of the campus’ most important defenses are its people, and this training is designed to help give employees the knowledge to help defeat cyber criminals.
Employees should receive an email notifying them of training, or you can log into the Campus Learning System to see if you have been assigned the training.
