Microsoft is releasing a new Teams app intended to be faster, simpler and more flexible.

On Jan. 2, 2024, Microsoft will update the classic Teams desktop client to the new Teams desktop client for all users at UAB. This change should improve the performance of the application and is required for continued supportability.

Existing Teams users will be prompted to move to New Teams without an option to decline. After about 15 seconds, the installation will be complete, and Teams will close and reopen as New Teams. No reboot of your computer is required.
