As Alabama’s fastest supercomputer grows in speed and strength, it is also seeing growth in users. Now, getting access to Cheaha is an automated process, saving time for both UAB IT staff and researchers.
UAB IT has implemented a self-service portal to give users immediate access to the system. Previously, account creation took two to three days to fulfill and was a manual process.
“This is also a time and money saver for research computing staff as they no longer need to spend time on this manual task, allowing them to focus on more advanced needs,” said Ralph Zottola, Ph.D., assistant vice president for research computing.
