UAB’s Animal Resources Program now has better access to data from studies to improve management, time and quality in research labs across campus.
“ClinCase is a valuable resource to help ARP staff on their journey toward excellence,” said Bryan Pike, UAB IT software developer.
ClinCase Reporting, created by Pike, is used to help track clinical records for animal research. The reporting tool allows ARP employees to pull reports on demand and help improve processes. Feedback from the software helps the care staff create the reports, gain confidence and avoid mistakes.
Given the isolated nature of ARP staff when it comes to research-related topics, ClinCase Reporting can help boost confidence with positive feedback. The reporting software proves that over 90 percent of clinical cases are correctly entered, allowing users to pinpoint specific issues at a crew or individual level.
When each issue is resolved, ClinCase can be fine-tuned to pinpoint another area that may need more focus.
Animal research at UAB is accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International and registered as a research facility with the USDA.
