UAB IT’s negotiations with technology vendors have netted more than $500,000 in savings over the past fiscal year, with total contract cost avoidance of $1.6 million.
Contracts include campus-wide software and services such as survey software Qualtrics, the Adobe Sign signature tool, and the Zoom conferencing solution.
Partnering with UAB Financial Affairs, UAB IT’s business services team has led negotiations with vendors to help save the university money and ensure valuable technology services remain intact — or even enhanced.
“Our priority is being good stewards of UAB resources,” said Kathy Litzinger, executive director of business operations for UAB IT. “Maintaining the services the university community needs, while also finding ways to avoid cost increases, helps all of us succeed.”
