UAB IT, working with UAB Enrollment Management, has streamlined the process of generating financial aid offer letters — getting them into the hands of students in minutes, rather than up to 48 hours.
“The previous process relied on a nightly batch job, which could result in almost two-day delays in getting letters sent to students,” said Ken Pruitt, assistant vice president of Enterprise Applications and Solutions at UAB IT.
The update allows for future scholarship management and has added tracking software to prevent duplicate offer letters from being sent to students.
The new design holds source data that allows the Financial Aid team to generate offer letters on demand. This will allow the team to test, review and send out award letters within minutes as opposed to the minimum of one day.
