The Well-Being Index is a web-based tool used to evaluate multiple dimensions of distress in just 7-9 questions. It is designed to measure burnout, allowing users to compare their scores to their peers as well as track progress over time to promote self-awareness. It is 100% anonymous. The index measures six dimensions of distress and well-being: likelihood of burnout, severe fatigue, suicidal ideation, quality of life, meaning in work, work-life integration, risk of medical error, drop-out risk, and overall well-being. Please use one of the following access codes based on your group/role: Faculty: UAB FACULTY Once entering the access code, the individuals will be prompted to make their own Wellbeing Index Account. The EACC is active and an available resource even currently. They are providing HIPAA-compliant distance counseling and teleheath sessions. Headspace launches in 2010 as an events company, but attendees wanted to take what they learned home with them. A small team took techniques available online so more people could experience the benefits of meditations anytime, anywhere. Headspace is an application that you can have on your phone or computer to view guided meditation practices, animations, and articles and videos to improve health and happiness in the world. You can try Headspace for yourself and learn the essentials of meditations and mindfulness with the free Basics course. If you enjoy it, then you can subscribe for full access to meditations anytime, anywhere. Once subscribed, you will be offered bit-sized mini sessions for when you are short on time, exercises to add extra mindfulness to your day, and hundreds of meditations on everything from stress to sleep. GBS has collaborated with the UAB Graduate School and UAB Counseling Services to offer the Graduate Faculty Council on Student Mental Wellness. The council values the total well-being of the student, including academic, mental health, social and physical health.
