The Marnix E. Heersink Institute for Biomedical Innovation will bring together complementary skill sets to enhance the transformative power of teaching and learning in biomedical innovation.
We will be accelerating high-value, innovative solutions through the continuum of discovery, translation, and application in partnership with UAB’s clinical practice and other local and international partners. Our central goal is to create a world-class, comprehensive entrepreneurship program in the Heersink School of Medicine. In attaining this goal, the program will operate from eight core principles.
Heersink Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) Scholars Program
The Heersink Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CIE) Scholars Program is a distinguished initiative developed to recognize and engage the top graduate students at UAB interested in health care innovation.
Heersink Innovation Fellows Program
The Heersink Innovation Fellows Program is a core component of the university-wide innovation initiative, where the entrepreneurial mindset, concepts, and core innovation are applied to disciplines across the campus.
Healthcare Innovation Academy
Participants in this seminal program will learn what it takes to build game-changing health care organizations that make their teams and areas of responsibility world-class talent factories.
