The UAB CFAR is a dynamic hub for HIV research in Alabama, providing vital support to control the epidemic since 1988, adapting and evolving alongside the growth at UAB.
The CFAR is dedicated to leading the way into the next era of the HIV epidemic. Through a lens of uplifting all people affected by HIV, we aim to support impactful discoveries, achieve HIV research priorities, and combat the epidemic in Alabama, the Deep South, and globally.
Our center structure features 5 Cores that provide services, scientific working groups dedicated to catalyzing new science, and our shared values. We are committed to having the priorities of people affected by HIV as a cornerstone to our work and having them reflected in our mission, our community engagement and forging genuine partnerships.
