GRiP is led by CNC Associate Director, Dr. Lawrence Sincich. This program offers grant writers an opportunity to have free access to pre-review to increase the level of competitiveness of proposals submitted by UAB Neuroscience faculty and students for federal and non-federally funded proposals. The CNC will facilitate a quality peer pre-review of proposals by experienced neuroscientists, peers in your discipline. Faculty, staff scientists, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students are all welcome to request grant proposal pre-reviews. We work with the grant writer to identify 2-3 reviewers from UAB and other institutions*. The CNC underwrites the fees given to reviewers for their written reviews, at the following levels: $300 for a full proposal review (3 week turn-around), $250 for a Research Strategy and Specific Aims review (2 week turn-around), and $150 for review of a Specific Aims page (2-5 day turn-around).

Full Proposal or Research Strategy reviews:

Step 1. Contact Lawrence Sincich sincich@uab.edu who will work with you to identify potential reviewers and set up feasible deadlines.

Step 2. Six weeks before your grant deadline (or earlier), submit your full proposal to Lawrence Sincich sincich@uab.edu for review. Reviews will be returned 2-3 weeks before date of submission deadlines.

Specific Aims only:

These reviews can be submitted at any time. Please follow Step 1 above, and include a copy of the Specific Aims page. You will receive reviews in one week or less.
