The Department of Medicine is thrilled to celebrate Sharon Harris, Patient Services Coordinator II, as the distinguished recipient of the DOM STAR Award for Staff Excellence in the Summer 2023 quarter. Sharon's exceptional dedication and outstanding contributions to her team have earned her this well-deserved recognition. Her colleagues have gone above and beyond to express their admiration for her remarkable abilities and compassionate nature. 

One of Harris' colleagues, Brooke Little, commends her for going the extra mile in the patient care setting. Before Harris' arrival, their ABC clinic faced a significant challenge with a high rate of no-show appointments. However, Harris took charge and implemented strategies to address this issue. She ensured that every patient was well-informed about their appointments and provided them with clear instructions on when and where to go. Harris' proactive approach extended to personally reminding patients about their upcoming appointments, emphasizing the importance of attending them. As a result of her efforts, the clinic's no-show rate has dramatically decreased, and patients are now more punctual than ever. Moreover, Harris' positive and uplifting demeanor has endeared her to both staff and patients, making her an invaluable asset to the team.
