On Tuesday afternoon, the Department of Medicine proudly celebrated its five 2024 DOM STAR Staff awardees at the 3rd Annual Reception in the Wallace Tumor Institute Lobby. Brittany Martin, David Clabough, Olivia Krantz, Tanya Sloane, and Ellen Lazzarre, CRNP, were honored for their outstanding accomplishments and invaluable contributions to the Department and UAB. Akce Joins O'Neal Experimental Therapeutics Leadership
Mehmet Akce, M.D., associate professor in Hem/Onc, will co-lead the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center's Experimental Therapeutics program with Drs. Suzanne Lapi and Ksenia Matlawska-Wasowska to continue the program's mission of developing innovative imaging, cancer prevention, and therapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes, effective March 1.
