CCVC Symposium 2024Last week, the Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center hosted its 11th Annual Symposium on Racial Disparities in Cardiovascular Disease. Renowned cardiologists Paul Douglass, M.D., MACC, and Eduardo Sanchez, M.D., M.P.H., delivered keynote lectures. Panelists sparked thoughtful discussions, and rising investigators presented their research at poster sessions and the Featheringill Young Investigators presentation.

CVD Director Nicole Lohr, M.D., Ph.D., presented the 2024 Featheringill Keynote Award to Paul Douglass, M.D., MACC.

Kennedy Elected to ACGME Board of Directors

Kierstin Kennedy, M.D., M.S.H.A., clinical associate professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Population Science, has been elected to a three-year term on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Board of Directors.

Van Gerwen Represents HSOM in Newly Established Center

Olivia Van Gerwen, M.D., M.P.H., assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, will serve on the leadership team of the newly established Center for the Study of Sexual and Gender Health, where she will represent the Heersink School of Medicine. The center aims to improve the health of LGBTQ communities through research, innovation, and collaboration.
