The Department of Medicine is excited to congratulate Steve Rowe, M.D., MSPH, (Professor, Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine) on his new position as Chief Scientific Officer for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation—the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis—effective July 1, 2022. As the CF Foundation’s Chief Scientific Officer, Rowe will oversee the direction and execution of their core scientific strategy which aims to find a cure for all patients with cystic fibrosis. Pran Datta, Ph.D., (Professor, Hematology and Oncology) will collaborate with two other institutions to investigate therapy strategies that will help modulate the immune microenvironment in patients with colorectal cancer.

Angelo Gaffo, M.D., (Associate Professor, Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology) will review and edit articles focused on the clinical practice of rheumatology relevant to the care of individuals with rheumatic diseases.

Anupam Agarwal, M.D., (Professor, Nephrology) is the recipient of the Senior Clinician Scientist Investigator Award to continue his study of lymphangiogenesis in the pathogenesis of Acute Kidney Injury. Kudos, Dr. Agarwal!
