Resident with fellow and attending physicianThe Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) recently completed their annual review of all the Department's GME programs. All our programs, both core and the fellowships, have earned continued accreditation and no citations. This is a testament to the hard work of all our fellowship directors, coordinators, leadership, faculty, staff, and trainees. 

More Good News for February 14, 2018

Maria Danila, MD, MSc, MSPH (Associate Professor, Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology) was published in the February issue of the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology and featured in Healio this month. The article reported on the use of medical scribes in The Kirklin Clinic’s rheumatology and endocrinology clinics, demonstrating they are feasible and well-received by patients and physicians.

Navin Nanda, MD (Distinguished Professor, Cardiovascular Disease) has been selected to receive the American Society of Echocardiography's Life Time Achievement Award. This is one of the Society's highest awards. Nanda will be presented the award during their Annual Scientific Sessions in June.

Congratulations to Jori May, MD (Fellow, Hematology & Oncology) on her selection to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Sabine Huke, PhD (Associate Professor, Division of Cardiovascular Disease) was recently chosen to join the NIH’s Electrical Signaling, Ion Transport, and Arrhythmias Study Section. Her term will start in July.

Next week’s Medical Grand Rounds will feature Harold Chapman, MD (Professor of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco) presenting, “Toward Precision Medicine in Fibrotic Diseases,” at noon on Wednesday, February 21, in Margaret Cameron Spain Auditorium.
