Lisa Curtis, PhD (Assistant Professor, Nephrology) and colleagues have been published in APSselect. Their paper which explores sex- and age-dependent effects in protective pathways in acute kidney injury is considered one of the best original research papers published by American Physiological Society.
Trisha Parekh, DO (Instructor, Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care) has been selected to participate in the 2017 Health Disparities Research Training Award Certificate Program. She will be doing research on the social determinants of health in COPD, focusing on specific health disparities and how this affects inequalities in COPD patients and how this relates to adverse health outcomes.
In a paper published in Scientific Reports, Ganesh Halade, PhD (Assistant Professor, Cardiovascular Disease) and colleagues showed that giving mice a form of the fatty acid-derived bioactive molecule lipoxin improved heart function after experiencing a heart attack.
