GIM Merger A new division is set to merge the talents of general internists and population scientists this October. Thanks to the recent approval of the UA System Board of Trustees, a merger between the Division of General Internal Medicine and the Division of Preventive Medicine will bring together specialists in patient care, education and research to create the Division of General Internal Medicine and Population Science, or GIMPOP for short.

Good News for June 21, 2024

GIMPOP will create new opportunities for collaboration, recruitment, and strategic growth within the Department of Medicine and the School, building on the combined strengths of the divisions’ staff, trainees and faculty. The two divisions are currently led by interim directors Dr. Andrea Cherrington for Preventive Medicine and Dr. Erin Snyder for General Internal Medicine, with recruitment underway for a permanent director to lead the new GIMPOP division.
