General objectives for the Advanced Course are:

• To provide those experienced in clinical tropical medicine or infectious diseases intensive hands-on exposure to large numbers of patients in a short period of time in order to maintain clinical skills.
• To facilitate the exchange of clinical acumen by assembling experienced clinicians together on a busy tropical disease unit in an endemic area.
• To create a network of experts committed to address the gaps of tropical medicine in global health aiming to improve healthcare services for underserved populations around the globe.
