Message from the Dean

As we cross the six-month mark since I became senior vice president for Medicine and dean of the UAB Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for all that has been accomplished during that time. Our outstanding faculty, staff, and trainees are our greatest asset and the foundation of our excellence.

Here we have collected some of the highlights from the past six months. These are just a few of the advances that our community has achieved that make me so proud to lead the Heersink School of Medicine.

Thanks to the dedication and talent of our people, we are able to have a profound impact on the health and well-being of our communities. I am truly grateful for the efforts of all of you whose contributions are essential to our success.
