Michael Massey
Program Director II
Michael Massey was born in St Louis, Missouri. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a Minor in Finance from LeMoyne Owen College in Memphis TN. After college, he spent 15 years as a Vice President and Community Development Officer for a national bank and Director of Community Programs for LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. When he isn’t coordinating our department’s finances and operations, he enjoys spending time with his family.
Ashley Hempenstall
Administrative Associate
Ashley Hempenstall was born and raised in Cheboygan, MI. She received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology and juvenile justice from Grand Valley State University. Prior to joining the IME team, she served as a Marine Deputy, a Children’s Protective Services Investigator, and Foster Care supervisor. When she isn’t at the office running the International Visiting Scholar program and keeping our administrative affairs in order, Ashley enjoys being outdoors, staying active, reading at local coffee shops, and watching football.
Lori Allison, MBA
Program Director II
Lori Allison was born in Marianna, Florida. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL and her MBA from Auburn University in Auburn, AL. Prior to joining the IME team, she spent 27 years in Information Technology industry serving in various roles within Project Management, Process Development, and Risk and Quality Management. When not heading our International Visiting Medical Student program, she enjoys baking, spending time outdoors and with her family.
Anita Lockett
Program Coordinator II
Anita Lockett was born in Montgomery, AL, and grew up splitting her time between Sweetwater, AL, and South Carolina. Anita has almost 20 years of health administration experience under her belt, with half of those years spent at Children’s Hospital of Alabama. After that, she became a part of the UAB family in the Graduate School before bringing her numerous talents to the IME team. When she isn’t working hard with our International Visiting Medical Scholar program, she enjoys woodworking, gardening, DIY projects, and spending time with her family.
Victoria Patneaude
Program Coordinator II
Victoria Patneaude was born in Ft. Lewis, WA. As an army brat, she was raised in several locations, before settling in Texas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. After college, she worked for multiple outlets—both in print and web—as a writer, reviewer, video interviewer, and photographer. Outside of the IME office and her duties with the Recognition of Distinction in Global Health program, you can find her reading and writing, going to concerts, and enjoying time with her dogs.
