Effective October 1, 2023, UAB Neurology is ushering in a wave of positive change with a strategic reorganization of leadership designed to elevate the overall quality throughout the institution.
Several thoughtful adjustments have been made within the department, reflecting our commitment to fostering a professional environment that thrives on optimism and excellence.
• Dr. Will Meador starts in a new role as Department Value Officer, taking on overall responsibility for leadership in quality within the department. Dr. Meador will also serve as Medical Director for Neurology, with responsibility for Neurology-led acute care inpatient units.
• Dr. Jennifer DeWolfe will continue in her role as Medical Director for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
• Dr. Ben Jones will take on the role of Ambulatory Medical Quality Officer (AMQO, also known as Ambulatory Director) responsible for outpatient care in Neurology clinics at TKC, Highlands, Leeds, Gardendale, and other sites.
• Dr. David Geldmacher will step down from his medical director role but will continue as Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs.
