In 2016, the UAB Department of Neurosurgery opened the Greystone Neurosurgery Clinic, making advanced neurosurgical care more accessible than ever.
This new clinic, located along the Highway 280 corridor, was a welcome addition to the department's efforts to expand access to high-quality neurological care across the state of Alabama.
By expanding its reach beyond its main location at the Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital, UAB Neurosurgery was helping to ensure that patients, even in remote areas, had access to the best possible care.
Over the years, the clinic has provided essential services to patients in the Greystone area and surrounding communities, improving outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for countless individuals and families.
The clinic, which provides a range of neurological services and treatments, is currently headed by Thomas Staner, M.D., and supporting staff members.
According to Staner, some advantages of the clinic include, “prioritized evaluations, on-site 3T MRIs and being a part of a nationally recognized neurosurgery department.”
Staner, who is board-certified in both neurology and neurosurgery, has more than 45 years of neurological experience.
“Our staff members recognize that any of us could become a clinic patient at any time in our life, and they care for their patients how they would want to be treated themselves,” said Staner.
The clinic is located at 7500 Hugh Daniel Drive, Suite 200, at the Greystone Neuroscience Center. Click here for more information.
