McKenna Killets (left) and Deborah Bowden (right) recently joined the UAB Department of Neurosurgery.
Killets joins the department as research program coordinator I and is fascinated by UAB’s research efforts. Originally from Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX, Killets graduated from UAB with a degree in biomedical sciences.
After college, Killets served two years as an AmeriCorps State Member with the YWCA's "Building Communities, Bettering Lives" Program, where she helped students with the college admissions process and provided them with educational resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outside of work, you can find Killets playing pickleball, visiting local restaurants and coffee shops and enjoying the beautiful Birmingham views.
Bowden joins the department as patient services coordinator I at the UAB Medical West location. She has work in patient care services for more than 20 years in health administration and has a degree in psychology and sociology from Alabama A&M University.
