Mohammed Abdellah Sayed will join the UAB Department of Neurosurgery’s Pediatric Division at Children’s Hospital of Alabama as an international visiting scholar. Sayed is from Egypt, where he works as an assistant lecturer of neurosurgery at Sohag University Hospital.
Sayed joined the Sohag University Hospital’s neurosurgery department in 2011 as a trainee and eventually transitioned to a resident, then to a demonstrator and later to an assistant lecturer. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in neurosurgery, specializing in pediatric neurosurgery.
Sayed completed fellowships at Children’s Oncology Hospital in Egypt in 2020 and at Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
In collaboration with UAB, Sayed will establish the first pediatric neurosurgical unit in Upper Egypt.
In his free time, Sayed enjoys reading, listening to classical music, and playing table tennis.
