University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery Assistant Professor Jakub Godzik, M.D., MS, was recently accepted as a candidate fellowship member into the esteemed Scoliosis Research Society.
The Scoliosis Research Society is a non-profit, international organization recognized as one of the world’s premier spine societies.
The Society maintains a commitment to fostering optimal patient care through innovative research, educational opportunities and advocacy efforts. Strict membership standards ensure that members support that commitment.
Current membership includes the world’s leading spine surgeons, researchers, physician assistants and orthotists involved in spinal deformity research and treatment.
“It’s a really impressive group of people and surgeons, my mentors and a lot of people I look up to are members, so I feel very lucky to be considered. I could not have done it without the support of Dr. Markert and Dr. Hadley, along with my mentors at Barrow Neurological Foundation and San Diego Spine,” said Dr. Godzik.
New members of the Society must be recommended by an SRS Active or Emeritus member and have extensive experience in a spinal deformity clinical practice.
