University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery Assistant Professor Jakub Godzik, M.D., MS, recently attended the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation’s (NREF) MIS and Emerging Technology for Senior Residents course as an invited faculty member.
Godzik delivered a talk titled, “Tricks and Nuances of the Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion” during the course. The course, held July 14-16, 2023, in Phoenix, AZ, is a comprehensive series of lectures and practical training sessions led by internationally recognized faculty, focusing on the latest advancements in open and minimally invasive surgical (MIS) techniques for managing cervical, thoracic, and lumbar disorders.
Established in 1980 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization under the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the NREF serves the mission of advancing neurosurgical knowledge and patient care through its support for both basic science and clinical research.
Additionally, the NREF is committed to providing lifelong education opportunities for professionals in neurosurgery, with the aim of enhancing outcomes for patients affected by neurosurgical diseases.
