Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery Harrison Walker, M.D., was recently appointed as the deputy vice chair for research in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery.
Walker, who will work to advance the neurosurgical research efforts of Department of Neurosurgery junior faculty, has extensive research experience.
As the newly appointed deputy vice chair for research, Walker will work alongside James Garber Galbraith Endowed Chair of Neurosurgery Professor James Markert, M.D., MPH, Professor of Neurology Burt Nabors, M.D., and the Department of Neurosurgery Office of Research leadership team, Donna Dixon and Anna Munger, to accomplish the goals set by the department and Heersink School of Medicine.
Walker will also serve as a mentor and co-investigator to Department of Neurosurgery early-career researchers.
