The American Association of Immunologists (AAI), in partnership with eBioscience, Inc., recently announced that Jianmei Leavenworth, M.D., Ph.D, associate professor in the UAB Department of Neurosurgery, is the recipient of the 2023 Lustgarten-Thermo Fisher Scientific Memorial Award.
The award was established in 2011 to honor the memory of Joseph Lustgarten, Ph.D., and to advance the careers of mid-career scientists who present immunology research at AAI annual meetings.
Leavenworth, a scientist at the forefront of immunology research, will present her abstract in both a Block Symposium and a poster presentation at IMMUNOLOGY2023 in Washington, D.C. on May 11-15, 2023. In response to the award, Leavenworth stated, "I am excited to be recognized by such a large international immunology society!"
