University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery Associate Professor Brandon Rocque, M.D., M.S., was recently promoted to tenured professor.
After earning his medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Rocque completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. While training as a resident, he obtained a master’s degree in clinical investigation. Rocque spent an additional year in Madison for a fellowship in complex and reconstructive spinal surgery prior to completing a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Children’s of Alabama.
Rocque’s primary clinical focus is pediatric neurosurgery, hydrocephalus, spina bifida, pediatric brain tumors, spasticity, peripheral nerve injuries and Chiari malformation.
His research focuses on improving the experience of care for children with neurosurgical conditions and their families.
During his time in the UAB Department of Neurosurgery, Rocque has made many valuable contributions to the Heersink School of Medicine through his thriving clinical practice and innovative research projects.
