The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham has been recognized as high performing by the U.S. News & World Report (USNWR) for 2023-2024.
The USNWR Best Hospitals, an annual release spanning more than three decades, aims to aid patients and their healthcare providers in making well-informed choices about where to seek treatment for complex health conditions or routine elective procedures.
The ratings and rankings are determined based on hospital patient outcomes, which assess how effectively patients have recovered after treatment. Additionally, other patient-centric factors, such as the quality of their overall experience and the hospital's staffing levels, are also taken into consideration.
For this year’s rankings, U.S. News assessed nearly 5,000 medical centers nationwide in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions.
Also, for another consecutive year, UAB Hospital has been named the best hospital in the Birmingham metro area and state of Alabama. Learn more.
