The UAB Department of Neurosurgery held the 34th Annual J. Garber Galbraith, M.D., Scientific Session and Lecture on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, in the Bradley Lecture Center at Children's of Alabama.
Christopher Ogilvy, M.D., from the Brain Aneurysm Institute, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, served as this year's J. Garber Galbraith, M.D., lecturer. The event kicked off with Neurosurgery Grand Rounds on Thursday evening in FOT 1001 and ended with dinner at The Florentine on Friday night.
"The Galbraith symposium is a unique event in that it combines a distinguished visiting professor experience, an alumni event and a resident research day all into one event," said UAB Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery Brandon Rocque, M.D. "This allows the department to showcase contributions to the department from current and former residents, as well as outside guests. For my part, I enjoy seeing what all the residents are working on and what the alumni have been up to, and I enjoy seeing the residents who have been working with me practice their presentations of our work."
The 35th Annual J. Garber Galbraith, M.D., Scientific Session and Lecture will be held Nov. 2, 2018.
