Jane Schwebke, M.D., professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, has been honored for high achievement in research and prevention by the American Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association (ASTDA).
Schwebke received the ASTDA Achievement Award for her work, which includes several high-impact randomized controlled trials for STD diagnosis and treatment, numerous and authoritative contributions to the understanding of bacterial vaginosis, the most common cause of vaginal discharge, and trichomoniasis, the most common curable sexually transmitted infection.
The awards were presented in July during the 2013 STI and AIDS World Congress in Vienna, Austria.
