Pippa C. Abston, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor of Pediatrics at the Huntsville Regional Medical Campus, was recently appointed by Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Alabama Department of Mental Health.Abston will represent Congressional District 5. Her term begins immediately and ends in April 2020. The board advises the commissioners of the Department of Mental Health on issues that fall within the department's mission to enhance health and well-being of individuals impacted by mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse and addiction.
Abston has been in practice for more than 20 years and has been a faculty member with the Huntsville Regional Medical Campus for 12 years.
